Welcome to the Caldeas blog. My name is Noel Gomez.
I am a professional with over 14 years of work experience in a multitude of environments including manufacturing and assembly, software development, logistics and distribution. My career has revolved around improving business processes through the effective use of technology.
I have worked on many projects in manufacturing and distribution including:
- Business Process reengineering for large biotechnology firm to facilitate data capture and reporting to FDA.
- Distribution and Logistics analysis for top pharmaceutical including all US and EU business units reducing costs by over 25 percent.
- Bar Code system implementation at leading irrigation manufacturer improving accuracy to over 98 percent and increasing efficiency over 30 percent.
- LEAN manufacturing implementation at leading irrigation manufacturer improving inventory turns reducing cycle time and minimizing scrap.
- Re-engineering inbound and outbound distribution at largest standardized test administrator reducing labor by over 33% while moving the process from a 70,000 sq-ft facility to a 21,000 sq-ft facility.

In addition, my passion is technology and keeping up with current trends in the market. I do software development as a hobby and I am an entrepreneur at heart.
I hold a BS in Industrial and Management Engineering from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute as well as two graduate degrees from the University of Southern California, an MBA and an MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering. In 2005 I was also awarded a design patent for an irrigation product.
